About the exhibition:

Kira’s paintings serve as a vessel of remembrance and forgetfulness. By re-visiting family photos she creates a vortex of ancestral experience. Although she considers herself a multidisciplinary artist, Kira’s paintings reveal her passion for the human figure.

About the artist:

Vancouver artist Kira Chankasingh is the daughter of immigrant parents from Trinidad and Tobago. A recent Visual Arts graduate of Emily Carr University, she was born in Yellowknife. Within her multiplicities of identity, Kira explores how the mystery of different environments impact culture.
