About the artist:

Jason Gillingham, B:WJason Gillingham was born in Calgary Alberta in 1974. He attended Concordia University as a sculpture major in 2000-2001, and has lived in Montréal since. He weaves, works in sculpture, assemblage, text, sound and photography.

Two of his art books, Thus, 2007 and Contextual Workings: Documented, 2010 can be found on permanent collection at The Médiatheque of the Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal.

He has aired various soundscapes on CKUT radio in Montreal since 2009exhibited a soundscape at les Territoires Galerie in 2011 and he performed live in collaboration oath Stefan Christoff as part of Montreal’s Island Frequencies in 2015.

He has shown his weavings in Rover Arts fundraiser in 2011 and in 2012 at the Château Frontenac in Quebec City he showed a series of weavings repurposing the Château’s old copper roof. In 2014 and 2015 he exposed in two group shows at Galerie Luz and two group shows at the Long Hall in Montreal and in 2015 at Ayden gallery in Vancouver. In 2016 “Radius”, a solo exhibition of his weavings, was at Monastiraki in Montreal.
